Tips for maintaining your Porsche in winter weather
If you’re a Porsche driver, or you drive any luxury vehicle for that matter, you know that the winter months can be cause for a little anxiety. While some drivers choose to put their coveted sports cars away during the winter months, drivers in colder climates without another driving option will have to brave the weather with their Porsche. That doesn’t mean you should just let Mother Nature run its course and ruin your vehicle. Check out these tips for maintaining your Porsche in winter weather!
Nothing will protect your car from the elements like getting it out of the elements. It’s obvious, but it goes a long way: if you can park your Porsche in a garage, then by all means do so.
Check the tire pressure
Dipping temperatures can also cause a dip in your tire pressure. Check the tire pressure weekly to ensure they are fully inflated. Under-inflated tires will wear faster and will decrease fuel efficiency.
Wax and wash your Porsche
Putting a polymer wax coating outside your Porsche will add a protective layer to keep away the snow, ice, salt, and other grime that can damage it. Wash your Porsche regularly to remove all the debris that builds up in hard-to-reach places.
Leave windshield wipers up
The mechanical system that controls the windshield wipers can be damaged if you turn it on while the wipers are frozen. Leave them up when you park for extended periods of time to keep them flexible and working.
We understand that your car is your pride and joy, so it makes sense to treat it with the utmost care. Get in touch with our team here at McDaniels Porsche to learn more measures you can take to keep your Porsche safe and unharmed during the winter season!
